About the Course
With Red Dot Sights becoming more prevalent on defensive handguns, Kiwi’s Custom Guns is proud to offer our Red Dot Pistol course. Students will learn the proper fundamentals when employing an RDS on their handgun including grip, consistent dot locating upon presentation, dot tracking, staying target focused, window and emitter occlusion, and multiple threat engagements. We will also cover proper mounting, back up iron sights, zeroing, and other related equipment.
Serpa holsters or similar holsters that use the trigger finger to deactivate a retention device are NOT allowed. Leather holsters not allowed.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:
Red dot equipped handgun with 3 magazines & your red dot adjustment tool
250 rounds of ammunition (No steel core, no armor piercing, no tracer)
Belt holster for your specific handgun and belt worn magazine pouch capable of holding two magazines
Sturdy belt
Electronic ear protection
Eye protection

Extra ammunition
Please wear clothing suitable for training on a range environment. Open toed shoes, flip flops, and tank tops are not allowed. Pants/leggings and a baseball hat are highly recommended.

Your Instructor
Scott Criswell
Scott is currently an active-duty police sergeant and oversees firearms training for his department. Scott began his law enforcement career in 2000 and has held assignments in Patrol, Street Gang Suppression, FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, Community Oriented Policing, Street Level Drug & Gang Detective (including plain clothes operations), 11-year SWAT Team member (Entry and Sniper/Observer with two agencies), Firearms instructor (Both Academy and Department), and Field Training Officer.
Scott holds instructor certifications in both private sector and CA POST courses in handgun, carbine, shotgun, long rifle, red dot handgun (RDS), and low light firearms employment. He has also certified in many other operator level firearm and tactical courses presented by private sector companies as well as law enforcement presenters including but not limited to: Vehicle Close Quarters Battle (VCQB), Low Light Operator, Tactical Carbine, and Tactical Handgun.
